SJM Henry Lau - Trap [All Versions]

Hello Everyone!!!

Sorry for not updating in a long time, even when saying i will update soon xD But anyways, there has been so many song releases from the last time i posted till now and i dont know where to start. So i figured might as well start with Super Junior - M's own Henry Lau!!! And his first Solo Artist track Trap.

So, Henry is a member of Super Junior - M, but real ELFs consider him as a Super Junior family member ^_^ Same with Zhou Mi too! Anyways, a little background on Henry. Henry Lau is Chinese-Canadian. His mother is from Taiwan and his Father is from Hong Kong (or vis-vera i get the parents confused), meaning Henry knows Basic Mandarin (of course getting better after promoting in China and Taiwan alot) and basic Cantonese. Along side of that, he was born in Canada!! Specifically Toronto, and thus meaning he knows an is fluent in English, and being born and raised in Canada, Canadian schools tend to teach French, so he also knows a little French! Anyways, the list of languages can go on, trust me it does; but lets focus more on Henry's debut. Henry entered into a SM Competition when he was in his Senior year of High School, and to his surprised he won the competition! He competed with his Violin and Dancing routine, which ultimatly led him to winning, his mother didnt believe it, so Lee Soo Man had him and his mother fly to Korea and well from then on he became a Trainee of SM!

Another side note, Henry started to play the Violin when he was 4 years old and he started to learn to play the piano when he was 5. His mother sort of made him do both as he grew up, he originally did not want to, until the age of 10 when he won a competition xD From then he enjoyed them more. He also thought that just playing the Violin was not that entertaining, so he decided to learn how to dance from a friend, thus incorporating how to dance while playing the violin. He also became interested in singing as well, so he also had a friend teach him how to sing. Overall, he learned how to sing, dance, play the piano, and violin....and well he is great at all of them! He really is an artistic genius!

Henry's first appearance was during Super Junior's Dont Don, during their 2nd Full Album. Henry was featured as the Violinist is featured in the middle of the song. However, due to back lash of many of the Only13 ELFs they were afraid that another member would be added to Super Junior so they boycotted SM and bought alot of stocks from them, therefore SM could not have added Henry to Super Junior, thus making the Chinese Sub-Group Super Junior-M adding Member Zhou Mi along, since Zhou Mi is also as talented and is Chinese! Therefore Zhou Mi and Henry are Super Junior M members, although it looks like today many fans go for all Super Junior 15 members, but still there are still many people who do not except Zhou Mi and Henry sadly :( But at least Zhou Mi and Henry are still strong and are performing more during Super Show ^_^ [Actually i am hoping for Zhou Mi to either also go Solo or to star in more Dramas!!!!]

So back to the present Henry. After 13 years, SM releases a solo artists, and it is no other than Super Junior's Henry Lau!!! Henry being as talented as he is, can definitly become solo and still be part of Super Junior, alot of his talented was only shown to the Chinese, being hidden in the real Kpop world, and Korean fans. So finally he gets to shine and show off his talent!

Henry made a comeback with his Mini-Album Trap. The mini-album consists of 6 tracks, 3 of which were composed by him and his composing team NoizeBank (1-4-3, My Everything, Ready 2 Love). However, i herd he and NoizeBank had written over 10 songs, but took the best 3 to be featured in his Mini-Album.

So the title song of the album is called Trap it features Super Junior's own Kyuhyun and SHINee's Taemin. The opening of the song has a beautiful piano piece that was composed by Henry himself, and as the song progresses Henry goes from playing the piano to standing and dancing ontop of the Piano, to jumping back to the ground singing and dancing, having Taemin coming in, and then more singing and dancing for the two of them, and then Kyuhyun comes in with his high-low note singing, and then all three of them dance and sing, and then they bring out and toss around handkerchiefs and they throw them and dance more and then Taemin and Kyuhyun bow while Henry goes back playing the piano and it ends xD I guess that is one way to describe the MV and dance to the song...

Well, my reaction (finally!!!) i think Trap is a great song, it is addicting and fun to listen too, it is not too complex while not being too simple. I love the in cooperation of the Piano, it makes it sound even better. If i had to rate the song i would give it a 5/5 stars. Also, i applaud Henry for being able to release the song in 3 different languages, i mean most groups do no even do that...i mean then again he is a Super Junior member, where Super Junior is able to release a song in Korea, Chinese, and Japanese, but Henry released the song in Korea, Chinese, and English!! (ENGLISH!!!) It's simply amazing, but i think that since the Korean version was released first may like the Korean version more. However, i have to say, i usually like the first version better, but i actually like all versions, they all sound great, and i am really happy that this song was released by Henry. ^_^ Thank You!!!

Lyrics to English Version Click Here!

Now the dance, personally, i thought it was amazing on how the dance was really trying to demonstrate the trap feeling, however, some parts were a bit awkward, or at least i think. Because, well i did think it was cool on how he dances on the piano and then jumps to the ground and dances, and he matches alot of the moves to the meaning of the song, great, loved it. But just the handkerchief part, like i found it cool how a prop was incorporated, and how skilled they are with it, but i just don't get how i plays into the song. But hey, the dance it still great, i wold give the dance a 4/5.

The MV, all i can say is Bravo SM, Bravo. You are improving on your Box Sets! xD Like at least he is not in a full box, this set has a sky in it!!! and a door!!! and a Piano!!! and a Couch!!! and a bird Cage!!! It has stuff!!!! Lol all i can say is now fans can not complain about box sets, because really it wasnt a full box! Also, Henry even looked awesome driving that red Ferrari down the freeway, he looked awesome! And i can defiantly say that was not in a box...i mean unless it was a really big box or really good green screen, but i assure you, from the BTS footage it is no box xD Let's just say i really liked it and SM is improving on their MVs ^_^ MV rating = 5/5

My overall rating for Henry's first Solo Mini-Album would be a 9/10  because i love all the songs, the MV was great, Kyuhyun (<3 My first Bias xD)) and Taemin were great, the dance was pretty good, overall i liked alot of it, and Henry deserves a high score! ^_^ 1-4-3 Henry ^_^

Drama Review: My Princess [2011]

My Princess

My Princess is a truly amazing drama that was aired in 2011. It stars Kim Tae Hee as Lee Seol and Song Seung Hun as Park Hae Young. Basically, My Princess is about a society where the largest share holder of Korea, who basically has connects to everyone and everything, if something happens so them everything can pretty much go wrong. Thus, the chairman of the company, was even lived during the time of the Monarchy and has worked closely with the royal family. The last monarch had died a while ago, and since the chairman has worked for him also made a promise to always protect the royal family, and one day bring back the royal monarch. Now, one thing that is haunting everyone is why the chairman is so approved to get back the monarch, since he is willing to even give up all his money to charity once the monarch is restored. All his money includes what his grandson owns too.
The Chairman's grandson is Park Hae Young, a diplomat, and of course being a diplomat would mean he is even more opposed of bringing back the monarch, aside from having his inheritance given away if the monarch is approved by the people. However, an obstacle in his way just happens to be the one who has to be in throne - The Princess Lee Seol. Lee Seol was adopted since she was 5 and she remembers nothing before then, all she remembers that were were bad things from the age of 5 and below. But when she coincidentally meets Park Hae Young because she wanted to get closer to her professor who she likes, she bumps into Hae Young often, both not knowing she is the princess herself. When Hae Young was set to find the princess it just turned out to be her, he would have never known it was her since when she first met him she didn't even tell her real name! But anyways, not that pretty much all of Korea knows she is the Princess, she has to be trained to become a princess, and guess who her teacher is...if you guessed Hae Young you totally right! Now Hae Young and Lee Seol will have to overcome all these obstacles in their way so that Lee Seol can become princess, however, Hae Young is a diplomat, yet he is helping the princess to actually become Princess? Well, it seems as if love and work will intertwine with each other, since Hae Young is a diplomat, and she shouldnt want the Monarch to be approved, and moreover he is the grandson of the biggest chairman of Korea, which people do now want to know that the company is accompanied with the Monarch, because that would just be bad (im not really sure why, its just it is bad).
So, will Hae Young's love for Lee Seol and vis-verse be able to come true as if it were a fairy tale, or will one thing have to be sacrificed for another? You will have to watch to find out!!

Thoughts and Reviews

Overall, I thought My Princess was an extremely amazing drama. I am disappointed about not hearing about it sooner, i literally just watched it a few weeks ago. Im surprised it is not that famous or popular as dramas such as Goong or Boys Over Flowers. Especially since there are two really great actors, (*ehem especially since we see Song Seung Hun and his amazing body*). But anyways, the chemistry between the two actors was just great! I honestly wish these two can become a real couple...but sadly Kim Tae Hee is currently dating Rain :( BUT Song Seung Hun says Kim Tae Hee is one of his idel types :D So there is still some hope! Anyways back to the drama, i have to say the plot was good, it didnt seem like there were many filler episodes that made it drag, and it didnt seem too short either. What i really loved was how the ending was just perfect, in other words, alot of dramas usually end when the two main characters are able to meet up and then they kiss and then is over, but not with My Princess, they went beyond and showed the happy parts between the two characters, the stuff that all the viewers want to see! ^_^ Overall, i really loved this drama and i would typically give it a 9/10.

So i suggest you watch My Princess if you have the time! Also, dont forget to comment or +1 below! :)

Drama Review: K-Pop The Ultimate Audition [2012]

K-Pop The Ultimate Audition [2012]

K-Pop the Ultimate Audtion (aka K-Pop Extreme Survival) is a drama about teenagers who want to become a successful artist or in other words an idol. In this drama, it starts Go Eun Ah (MBLAQ Mir's sister), Park Yoo Hwan (JYJ (or previously TVXQ) Park Yoo Chun's brother [He stared in Rooftop Prince]). Go Eun Ah plays Ji Seung Yeon who is mistaken as a boy yet is very talented. Park Yoo Hwan plays Kang Woo Hyun who seems extremely nice when he is public, but he is actually the rude, arrogant, self centered leader of M2, the most popular band of the time.

In a basic overview of the drama, the group M2 who is extremely famous is about to "graduate" in other words, once their time is up, or once they are old enough there will need to be a new M2. Moreover, M2 seems to be mainly popular due to their arrogant leader Woo Hyun, while the rest of the members are not as popular. The rest of the members really hate Woo Hyun because really all they want is the fame, which they know they can only get if they have Woo Hyun. Now, we honestly have to say Woo Hyun is very popular, but its just is arrogant self that is holding himself shine more. When there is an audition for M2, there were 3 members that were already chosen through the CEO and his assistant, however, when it was leaked who those junior members where chosen it caused a huge controversy, people saying they were untalented and it is unfair to start the new M2 already. Thus, the CEO, who in reality seems really stupid but he actually does know what he is doing; he holds an open audition to everyone/anyone. Seung Yeon's best friend wants to audition, and he definatly has the talent, however he can get over getting stage fright. Thus, Seung Yeon auditions with him, no one knowing that she is actually a girl, and the funny thing is, she wasn't even trying to hide she is a girl. In the end her best friend, Kwon Ji Woo (played by Kwak Yong Hwan) had passed, WITH Seung Yeon, and actually people were more happy about Seung Yeon passing. Now, i dont want to go into greater detail and ruin the drama, so i will just continue with, the Seung Yeon along with Ji Woo and 4 other juniors who passed, are being trained to be known as M2 juniors, although the company actually does not plan to debut them, they try their best to be known. While Woo Hyun slowly seems to fall in love Seung Yeon, he still is clueless about her actually being a girl! When will he find out? What will happen when he finds out? Will the M2 juniors debut? What is happening next??!?!?! Watch K-pop Extreme Survival to know!!!

FINALLY The Real Review

My honest opinion on the drama is that it is actually a really great drama. If your someone who likes dramas that have young teenagers trying to pursue a goal, and love being one of the important factors, i think you will like this drama. Personally, the drama to me seems like a combination of Dream High, Your Beautiful, and Heartstrings all in one. Since, the drama is focused around teenagers wanting to become famous idols, it has that feeling of Dream High, where Your Beautiful comes in because, well there is a group called M2 and  there is a girl who is mistaken as a guy here, and lastly Heartstrings comes to play here because the guy, in this case Hyun Woo actually hires Seung Yeon as a servant for a while! Overall, i did like those dramas, and combined all in one is pretty cool.
However, what i am disappointing about K-pop Extreme Survival is that it seemed to have a rushed ending, the ending was not bad, but it could have been better. Since, i am assuming the ratings were not high for the drama so they had to cut it short. Now, there was so much more potential growth for it and there were so many unanswered questions, if the drama were to have continued i would have loved this drama even more, but sadly it didnt.
In terms of the actors, personally i thought they were really good. This was my first drama seeing Go Eun Ah and Park Yoo Hwan. I was originally skeptical about watching this drama because, i dont want to sound rude or anything, but i originally thought Park Yoo Hwan was just unattractive and i didnt really want to watch it, but as i watched the drama more i found him more and more attractive ^_^ <3
Overall, if i had to give a score out of 10 i wold give K-pop The Ultimate Audition (aka K-Pop Extreme Survival) a 6/10.
Basically, im giving a 6/10 since i liked the overall plot and the characters, its just that were was so much more potential for the drama to create an even better ending and expansion on the plot, although it didnt happen, i have to give it a greater than 50% ranking. 6/10

Drama Review: Heartsrings [2011]

Heartsrings [You've Fallen For Me]

Heartstrings - aka You've Fallen For Me is a teenage drama that is perfect for any teenage soul and musical ears! It starts Park Shin Hye from You're Beautiful and YoungHwa from CNBlue, also starred in You're Beautiful. Now, both leads starred in You;re Beautiful, and both had an interesting relationship. However, you know in every drama there is always this great guy that the female lead likes and kinda even shows signs of liking him, until the very end you know who her real choice is, and it isnt him. Well, in You're Beautiful YoungHwa was the great character who was pushed aside, BUT thanks to MBC they have come up with a drama perfect for those YoungShin snipers.

Park Shin Hye plays the character Lee Gyu Won, who is a traditional music major, and plays the traditional korean instrument, the Gaeyum; her grandfather is also a traditional music professional. YoungHwa plays the character Lee Shin, who is a very talented Guitarist, but also has had a huge crush on one of his school professors for a long time.

Without ruining the whole drama, i could give you a basis on what Hearstrings is about. Lee Shin and Gyu Won both go to the same university, and Lee Shin is in a band called "The Stupid" which is very popular among all students at the school. One, day the traditional music department had a fundraiser to raise money for a very ill teacher to help pay her hospital bill for a surgery; to attract interest they had "The Stupid" perform, however, of course the main Guitarist and singer, Lee Shin, did not show up. The next day, he heads to apologize to Gyu Won and give double the money/fine to her, without knowing the professor had passed away the night of the performance.
With a very upset yet sad Gyu Won a competition sparks between the two department majors, a competition between the traditional music and the "modern" music players; while the loser of he two characters has to become ones slave for a month. Overall, the outcome came to be very obvious since Gyu Won's Gaeyum string breaks in the middle of the performance. Thus, meaning she has become his slave for a month.
Throughout that time as being slave, slowly she starts to develop feelings for him, although due to his feelings for the professor, who has no love feelings for him, just pity and friendship, Gyu Won decides to tell him but also decides to stay out of his way so that he can be happy. However, that didnt seem to be the case, where it turns out now he just cant get her off his mind. Although, the story doesnt just end there, there are more twists and turns that occur between and after this, but you'll just have to watch the drama yourself to find out!

Now, let me just give my feed back to this drama. First, i have to say i really really really really really [hehe Heartstrings reference - you'll get it if you watch the drama xD] love this drama. Although, it did not hit too much fame in Korea, it is a huge international hit. But anyways, why i like this drama, its just so sweet, cute, hot, funny, and overall it can really touch your emotions, sometimes you would even wish or wonder how you're life would be if you were in one of the characters place. I loved this drama so much i have watched it three times, and honestly, its only been a month after i watched the first episode xD

Another great thing about Heartstrings is the music. The music for the drama is really well done, the characters can really sing and play. YongHwa and Minhyuk (who also is part of CNBlue and starts in Heartstrings) each wrote songs and sang them for the drama. My absolute favorite song would be the OST You've Fallen For Me sung by YoungHwa. Its so sweet and cute and catchy, just love it!!! <3 Overall if i were to give it a rank i would give it a 11/10 xD You should defiantly check it out! You'll totally fall for it xP

CNBlue - I'm Sorry Review

CNBlue - I'm Sorry

So recently after watching the drama Heartstrings staring Yonghwa and Park Shin Hye [which they should totally be a couple! Sorry YongSeo's but YongShin forever xP]. Along with Yonghwa, Minhyuk starred in Heartstrings as well, i mention this because of course they are both CNBlue members! I have always herd of CNBlue but i was never really interested in them, until watching Heartstrings and finding Yonghwa and Minhuk, and also contantly listening to the OST You've Fallen For Me sung by Yonghwa. Thus, this is how i found and got interested in CNBlue. Which coincidently after "discovering" CNBlue for myself, they just released a new song/mini-album (how coincidental)! The title song to this Mini Album is called: I'm Sorry

The meaning behind this song is basically, each of the CNBlue members are experiencing a break up. The girl in their life decides to leave them/him. Where they basically sing about how the girl in their life must have been full of lies, since she has said she loved him, and he was the only one for her yet she still leaves. Now of course they would feel heartbroken, so they continue singing about her last words being I'm Sorry, and they respond to her apology by saying she is no longer in their/his heart, and they have already forgotten about her. However, they still imply she is crazy for breaking up with them/him and still apologizing. Thus, the overall meaning of this song is to present the feeling of a break up. Which my thought to is that it was presented really nicely. Now, I am not a fan bands really, this is my first K-band and Band in general...unless you want to count say like the Jonas Brothers a band...but i don't know; lets just say CNBlue was my first band in general. So really, for being a band and singing such a song it songs really good and its very catchy. I only listened to this song because of Younghwa, but now i cant stop listening to it! Song Rank - 10/10

In terms of the Music Video, I think it was done very nicely! There was a great balance to them having the look of a band performance, with them playing their instruments and singing at their parts, very nice and cool. What i really liked was how the drama part was put in, how the transitions between the band and the drama was done, it was amazing! In terms of the drama itself, i have to say it was very...dramatic...xD In a good way, because they guys really did show their great acting skills while at the same time still looking cool and hot! Overall, i think the MV was done very well and nicely - it was amazing!!! :) MV Rank - 9/10

Now that i'm into CNBlue now, i will keep a close eye on them, hoping for more great songs in the future!
Check out the MV to I'm Sorry if you still have not seen it yet!

Super Junior M - Break Down - Review

Super Junior M - Break Down

Recently on January 7, 2012, Super Junior M (The Chinese Sub-Group of Super Junior, which include Henry and Zhou Mi) have released there 2nd Full Album and Music Video for their title track  Break Down. It has been 2 years since their comeback with a new album, after the leaving of Hangeng, although in 2011 the group, consisting of Henry, Zhou Mi, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Donghae, Siwon, Eunhyuk and Sungmin; released an EP called Perfection which was a great hit throughout Taiwan, China, and other countries around the area, even Korea.

With this years new album, song, and Music Video, it seems to be off to a great start! Super Junior M is one of the best Super Junior subgroups and is most successful between the Chinese speaking countries. With this album, Super Junior M and Super Junior it self with rise back into fame again!

Song in General:
When the teaser to Break Down released, I am honestly going to say, it was the best teaser i have aver watched and was extremly anticipated for the full song! Other teasers i have seen, later released the song preview already. However, with this song, there was no full song preview, only the album medley. After constantly watching and listening to the Teaser, the MV finally was released. Watching the MV was a total shock! I was completly hooked onto the song and the MV. The song in general is very good, it compiles the soft voice, the rao, the pop, the catchy chorus, and even Dubstep - now that is a great combo! Love it!

Lyrics:
Now in terms of lyrics, i personally really like them. It is not like Super Girl (Title track of first album), since I thought the Lyrics to super girl were a little scrambled and did not make too much sense together. Thus, with Break Down, it really looks like there is a story being told through the lyrics. For example the main chorus:
"For you my armed heart Break Down, Whats left is my bare confession, my defenseless love" These lyrics actually make sense in English and Chinese, and it sounds really good! It's very catchy and it makes sense! Thus, my honest feelings for the lyrics to Break Down is astounded and amazed, I feel in love with the lyrics. My heat breaks down for Super Junior and Super Junior M! Score: 9.5/10
Read the Lyrics to Break Down Here

Dance:
My feeling on the dance for Break Down is that it was purely amazing. Now i know i say everything is amazing, but i just love Super Junior and Super Junior M!!! [Come on who can hate Henry or Kyuhyun!]. Back to the topic of the dance, for this dance, the moves are very complex, it is extremly difficult to follow along, there is also no main dance moves, like how Super Girl had. Although, I cant really say there is not a move in there that is more featured than another, since there is much a max compleity of the dance to the song, it is hard to say, but the complexity of the dance just shows how much potential and talent Super Junior  M has. This dance is defiantly not easy and having it pared up with such an amazing song, it is Perfection! [Get it? xP] Score: 10/10

Music Video:
The Music Video is the usual Super Junior style, in a boxed set. Now i know many fans hate the box sets, the believe that it was good when Sorry Sorry came out, but not it seems kinda old fashioned. Well, in my opinion i feel like the box sets used here actually fit the song really well. I love the lighting and colors of the sets, and when they go to the dark background it shows the feeling of the guys actually feeling like they want to break down, as they express in the song. The feel really does fit the song and i don't think it is bad, i personally really like it. I know people now adays like the drama version MVs but Super Junior really makes the best Box Set MVs, i do hope one day SM and have both Super Junior and Super Junior M can make a Drama Version MV though, that day will come! We will hope! Although, i feel like if they do a drama MV their amazing Dance moves wont be expressed as much. Unless SM will do something like the It's You MV, since It's You and Sorry Sorry are from the same album, It's You was almost Drama like, and Sorry Sorry was the boxed set. Thus, if they did a main song in a box set and a following song in a drama, that would be nice (You know how they release two songs a year, i.e Sorry Sorry & It's You or Sexy Free & Single and Spy or Mr. Simple & A-cha). Thus, although it is a boxed set MV, it is still good, it makes the feel of the song, but it would be nice for a Drama MV once in a while. Score: 8/10

These are my thoughts on Super Junior M's New Album title track Break Down, what are yours?
