Drama Review: Heartsrings [2011]

Heartsrings [You've Fallen For Me]

Heartstrings - aka You've Fallen For Me is a teenage drama that is perfect for any teenage soul and musical ears! It starts Park Shin Hye from You're Beautiful and YoungHwa from CNBlue, also starred in You're Beautiful. Now, both leads starred in You;re Beautiful, and both had an interesting relationship. However, you know in every drama there is always this great guy that the female lead likes and kinda even shows signs of liking him, until the very end you know who her real choice is, and it isnt him. Well, in You're Beautiful YoungHwa was the great character who was pushed aside, BUT thanks to MBC they have come up with a drama perfect for those YoungShin snipers.

Park Shin Hye plays the character Lee Gyu Won, who is a traditional music major, and plays the traditional korean instrument, the Gaeyum; her grandfather is also a traditional music professional. YoungHwa plays the character Lee Shin, who is a very talented Guitarist, but also has had a huge crush on one of his school professors for a long time.

Without ruining the whole drama, i could give you a basis on what Hearstrings is about. Lee Shin and Gyu Won both go to the same university, and Lee Shin is in a band called "The Stupid" which is very popular among all students at the school. One, day the traditional music department had a fundraiser to raise money for a very ill teacher to help pay her hospital bill for a surgery; to attract interest they had "The Stupid" perform, however, of course the main Guitarist and singer, Lee Shin, did not show up. The next day, he heads to apologize to Gyu Won and give double the money/fine to her, without knowing the professor had passed away the night of the performance.
With a very upset yet sad Gyu Won a competition sparks between the two department majors, a competition between the traditional music and the "modern" music players; while the loser of he two characters has to become ones slave for a month. Overall, the outcome came to be very obvious since Gyu Won's Gaeyum string breaks in the middle of the performance. Thus, meaning she has become his slave for a month.
Throughout that time as being slave, slowly she starts to develop feelings for him, although due to his feelings for the professor, who has no love feelings for him, just pity and friendship, Gyu Won decides to tell him but also decides to stay out of his way so that he can be happy. However, that didnt seem to be the case, where it turns out now he just cant get her off his mind. Although, the story doesnt just end there, there are more twists and turns that occur between and after this, but you'll just have to watch the drama yourself to find out!

Now, let me just give my feed back to this drama. First, i have to say i really really really really really [hehe Heartstrings reference - you'll get it if you watch the drama xD] love this drama. Although, it did not hit too much fame in Korea, it is a huge international hit. But anyways, why i like this drama, its just so sweet, cute, hot, funny, and overall it can really touch your emotions, sometimes you would even wish or wonder how you're life would be if you were in one of the characters place. I loved this drama so much i have watched it three times, and honestly, its only been a month after i watched the first episode xD

Another great thing about Heartstrings is the music. The music for the drama is really well done, the characters can really sing and play. YongHwa and Minhyuk (who also is part of CNBlue and starts in Heartstrings) each wrote songs and sang them for the drama. My absolute favorite song would be the OST You've Fallen For Me sung by YoungHwa. Its so sweet and cute and catchy, just love it!!! <3 Overall if i were to give it a rank i would give it a 11/10 xD You should defiantly check it out! You'll totally fall for it xP
